what did chrysler/dodge use for a 5 lug d60 in the rear of a muscle car? what all can you find them in..did they use c-clips or bolt on bearing retainer like a ford 9''? i want to build a derby car & i have a 8lug d60ff, but not sure if i can run a 8 lug..what rear end would you use..ford 9'' w/a full spool?

I think the 440 and hemi cars usually got them, good luck finding one, and if you did it would be worth far more to some resto guy than for demo car use.

I.H half ton 2 wheel drive had them too. early 70's vintage for sure.

Some old fullsize Jeep pickups had 35 spline non c-clip 5 lug dana 60 rears. 1970 J-3000s or similar. Most of the Dodge and 1968ish Fords are 30 spline. I have seen some 6 lug semifloating Dana 60 rears too.

They are more rare and a he!! of a lot more money than front 60s. I've only ever seen one rear 5 lug 60, and paid $400 for it. It was out of a 68/69 Roadrunner 440 6 pack car. 3.55s, Powerlock, 35 spline axles, no c clips. I listed it on ebay, canceled the auction early cause it would have ended at 3 in the morning, at that point it was up to $980 something.

There is a junkyard by me that has cars from the 60/70s, the guy is a Mopar freak, I can only imagine how many of those rears are in there, he won't let anyone in it.....

i striped a ih travalall ( suburban style ) 4x4. had 44 open knuckle frt drum brake and 60 rear with posi 5 lug both. cant tell on clip or not tho.

always check ih stuff. lots of odd ball goodys used in them.

Here is the list of what you will find, J-20 on the bottom should be J-4000, J-20s will have a fullfloating 8 lug Dana 60 rear.

I have owned almost all these axles. :haha:
