what would i need to make my truck a 5 speed? it is already a 3 speed w/ granny low and a 208 t-case what parts would i need?

You'll need an NV3500 or NV4500 tranny with bellhousing for starters. If you go with the NV4500 you'll need a T-case with a 32 spline input shaft, not sure what the spline count is on the NV3500...I wouldn't use it anyway.

The nv4500 4x4 tranny is a direct bolt to the t-case that you have, you will need the bellhousing and salve cylinder for the nv4500 also, yours wont work.

The one I used was out of a 97-2000 chevy trucks(mostly 3/4 ton or one tons ) they also have the newer internal slave cylinder. The slave cylinder is inside the bellhousing instead of hanging on the outside.
I got the bell housing and transmission, the 208 tcase out of a 4spd or a 400 auto will bolt directly to the nv4500 without any adapters, and then just had my local NAPA mate the two hydraulic lines from the 87 and the 97 together.
Works good.
Good luck.
If you cant find one give me a call at work, 800 627 2100 x 227.
