Going to pick up the latest purchase/score on Wed. :D

One front and two rears, all from same truck, with the springs still attaced to them and only 70 miles away from me.

$500 cash for everything. :eek1: :thumb:

Pics to follow after we get back home Wed. afternoon.

Can you say........Bigfoot! :waytogo:

My dads buddy junked out 27 of those. Few were running and driving. Some even had current work repairs and new tires. Should have grabbed one to bob and a few spare front axles

You thought all that sheetrock was hard on your truck.... 3 rockwells. :)

I think the planetaries make a big difference. Have anyone ever seen 5ton military's with out board planetaries? I'd suspect planetaries would kick them up a class or two. No?!?

Planataries can run a lot more or go for nothing. Depends on what they are.

Some are impossible to get parts for.

Others are very valuable and cab go for thousands

Hey where's our pics? :)
Soon, soon. :waytogo:

Been raining all day and last night. The axles are resting comfortably outside in front of one shop door.

Oh, BTW, did I mention these things are HUGE? :thumb:

what a reasonable amount for a pair of 5tons then? $1000 for a complete pair is fair?
I've watched Pirate, eBay and few other sites while searching for just a front axle. I've been seeing them get prices dropped as far down as $500 but the closest one was on the border between North and South Dakota. Then this deal fell in my lap and we only drove an hour away to get them.

Not sure what to do with the 2 rears I've got. While I'd love to look for planetaries and graft them onto the rears to make them steers, I'll probably end up selling them and using the funds to locate another front.

I got the front springs off the truck these axles came off of and it took 2 of us to pick up, carry and load one spring in the back of the truck. :doah:
