50 series flows?

Quieter than 40's and louder than 70's..... :p:

You can go to Flowmasters website and listen to audio clips of each one (at least you used to be able to), but that's probably a useless way to guess about "loud"...

You can still listen to them all. 40s sound real loud even on my strereo!! But I've had glass packs before mounted just under each door and believe me....loud exhausts get real old real quick when you've got some miles to do. Those 70 series sound pretty good tho.
I've got a high flow cat and Borla sportsman on my '91 and it sounds really mellow yet muscley. I'll set up something similar on my '78 but without the cat when my TBI motor goes in. May go for the 70's as a Borla will be LOUD without a cat!

I went with Dynomax Super Turbos. They have lots of guts off the line, but mellow out quite a bit when you're cruising. They also flow better than the Flowmaster 50s. Here's a link from the Dynomax website: Click http://www.dynomax.com/superturbo.stmHERE

Like southernspeed said, loud exhaust gets REALLY old on longer road trips...

I've been very staisfied with Magnaflow. Loud when you romp it, but comfortable when cruising.

Our '94 Sub has a 50, with a cat, and it's too loud on long trips. :( It's pretty annoying when cruising at 75-80.

I have a pair of Borla's on my K5, without cats, and it's LOUD!
