This thread is for the general discussion of the item 50 year old barn rehab. Please add to the discussion here.
Barn is likely being generous - but the name "Gray Barn" stuck. Its definitely small for a barn, but it will make do as plans are finalized for a much larger pole barn. Dimensions of the gray barn are roughly 14 x 20. That will eventually grow to 20x20 of usable floor space. Original purse was general storage w/ some animal use. Its likely seen some light cattle use over the last 50ish years. This marks the 3rd time its been restored. Nothing is square or true, so its been a real joy getting stuff to fight, align etc. Its coming along with significant progress since the end of October,What was it originally built for? It is a strange looking barn. What are the dimensions? It looks really small.

Finally getting ready to extend the floor. The posts are overkill [6'x6's] - but its what I wanted. I'll likely pour concreate around the posts unless someone can convince me they can be placed on top w/ a concrete anchor?
....
This may be it.snip ...If the posts are placed on top of the concrete is a footer required? At the moment I was planning on just doing about a 4" slab...
Works good, looks good, can't beat that with a stick.snip ...Whilist the barn has been alot of work, but worth it. It turned an otherwise underused, last-ditch storage option into something very useful...
Not to be a jerk, I love fixing up old buildings, but would you not have been better off to just start fresh? Is there much there?
