Check out the attached link for pics.

I don't see a problem mounting them verticle, straight inline with the axles, but this is the first rig I've built, and I really hate to do stuff twice.

How have ya'll been mounting your long travel shocks?

Truck specs: 78 K20 Chassis, Dodge D60 front, 52" spring swap w/ 6" shackles and ORD bushings, 15" long travel shocks (cheapies), Crossover steering with soon to add hyd assist. The rear has a shackle flip I fabricated myself, with 64" springs with a 14BFF hanging from it.

they way i understand it you want the shocks to be straight up and down under full compression. to do that would require a slight offset towards your shackles.

I could probably set it up that way, at least on the pass side. On the drv side, there is the steering column that may be in the way.

How much would ya think I need to allow for UP travel? The way the shocks are sitting in the mock-up pics, there's 4" of rod pulled out.

Thanks!

Check out my article on Doetsch Tech shocks in the "Product Review" section. You can see how I mounted my front shocks. Seems to be working really well so far.

Great article. I read it about a month ago.

Looks like I put mine in the same spot. Only difference is I used cheap shocks and a hoop for the mount.

Thanks again!
