too far north!
did the swap tonight. was gonna run 56's but the shackle angle wasn't working. i moved the centerline of front spring eye bolt 4 inches forward. put the 52's in and it looks better. still no weight on front so time will tell! pics.

As it sits right now your shackle angle sucks. It may change some with weight but I would look into relocating the shackle forward an inch or two to make the shackle angle better.

The big Iroks look cool. Looks like your working hard, keep up the good work and good pics.

LOL..... How come when people see a 10 bolt, and a tire bigger then a 33 they have to say something about it.... Whats to say the guy doesnt have a 60 on the way? and even if he didnt. It is possible to make those axles live with big tires........ guess its just another case of... Same **** different pile.

I sold him the IROKs, I already know he has a '60, I'm just giving him crap dude, relax.

(How would I know they were 39.5 IROKs otherwise?)

that doesn't sound too hard! since i have already drilled 48 1/2" holes through brackets and frame :D i really wanted to do the 56's but the shackle was so far back it was about 1-1/2 inches from the body mount! for sure it would hit the mount when engine goes in.

three things...

1) 39.5s and a 10 bolt? ;)

2) how long are them shackles? and just what exactly is the optimum shackle angle... with the weight of the rig on the spring?

3) just kidding about the 10 bolt thing. I have no problems with a properly built 10 bolt front. I reserve the right to say "for the love of god man, dont do it!" when it comes to the 10 bolt REAR though... :D

i have a d60 with crossover going in it's just no together. it had a couple issues and i haven't got it back together yet. hopefully this weekend. the shackle are 7-1/4' eye to eye, got em from whiterhyno. as far as the shackle angle i don't know if i have heard an exact angle mentioned or if everyone just eyeballs it. i know it should lay back a bit not hang straight :D

i think by the time you get your moter trany t case, fenders, rad, battery, master cyl, sterins shaft, and top off you windsheild washer fluid the angle shoud be just fine

remember the washer fluid

yeah kinda hard to say what angle will be with 800-1000 pounds of drivetrain etc. :yikes:

did you drill the rivets out and move the mounts and hangers to the other side [flip them from side to side]??
