For all you guys that have 52's up front how much slip are you running in your front drive shaft? I am starting to try and figure out how much slip i need and would like a rough estiment because im a few hours away from my truck

thanks

i just made my own driveline with box tubing. use 2' for the inner then 2 1/2" recieving hitch tube for the outer. then cut up your own driveline and weld the ends on. use 14" outter and 14" inner. works great. plenty of slip

Roughly 8-10 inches of slip yoke travel on mine :eek1:

I've got a 42 degree CV and 12 or 14" (can't remember exactly) of slip.

Give Jesse at High Angle Driveline a call

thanks for all the replys, having a better idea of the travel needed i now know that AAM does not have any combination of parts that will work for me so i think i am going to end up buying the long slip parts from high angle and then have the parts built into my shafts in the Prototype lab where i work

I see your running a 465/205 setup Be cautious if you order a 42 degree c/v shaft from High Angle. I am running the same setup, ordered a $600 42 degree High angle shaft. Nice shaft but the c/v is longer than normal and you only end up with 5-7" of slip due to its extra length. My problem is I have so much droop it pulled apart all the time. Had to run a limit strap on the passenger side to prevent it. which limits my down travel to 3-4" :( Only solution is to install a doubler to lengthen the front driveline.

I am just going to buy the long slip parts from High angle and am going to build the rest at work, i just have to take all the measurments from my truck and me and the other propshaft engineers are going to desgin the shaft, and if i do run into this problem i already have a 10 spline 203 and 465 adapter for a doubler in the future when the funds allow it

:waytogo:

Are they hurtin like everywhere else?

Not as bad, There is a lot of new products that we are starting to produce that are not sold to the big 3 so they are trying to diserfiy, The plate that i work at though has seen some Union peole get layed off because we produce a lot of truck parts and they are not selling, but no engineering layoffs yet
