I was woundering if there is any kind of block or something that would help correct the movement foward of the axle?

If by forward movement you mean the fact that it's scooting up 4" or so, it's gonna be tough. You'd have to move the both sets of spring hangers back, and since the frame is arched, you'd have to make a biiiig spacer up front, way short shackles in the back, and you'd still have a weird pinion angle. At the very least ;)

The best you'd get out of a zero-rate aka EZ Inch is about an inch; any more than that and the axle wouldn't be at the peak of the springs' arch. If you don't want to extend your wheelbase, don't use long springs. :deal:

Yes, to do the 52" swap you'll prolly have to go to crossover steering. Yes, it's complicated and expensive, so just remember, "4x4" in uppercase is "$X$" :haha:

oh ok well thanks for the help I have already been looking for all my parts for cross over steering.

Where is a good place to buy limiting straps from?

I thought a 52" swap only moved the axle up 2", not 4". If you move the stock spring hanger to the front of the body mount, the spring hanger moves about 4" but the center pin only moves 2" because the 52s are 26" from eye to pin, not 24" like the stock 48s (again, just what I've been told, haven't done mine yet). My zero rates showed up today from ORD and I'm hoping the 1.5" will put my axle back in about the right place.

I thought the 52"s were symmetrical and the 56"s weren't ... well, I know the 56"s are lop-sided.

Anyway, I might be wrong on the numbers, but even 2" is too much to shift with a zero-rate.

52s are symetrical, they are going to move your axle about 2"s if you do the traditional bracket movement. Why don't you want to move the axle forward? Thats one of the best things about the 52/56" spring swaps. That helps me run 42s with only 5"s of lift

well its not that i am worried its just i wanted to try and run stock steering to just to go light driving. If that is at all possible.

I am doing the diyb52 swap.

Is it possible to use stock steering to just do some flat trails and maybe some 1foot step ups?

You can use stock steering with the stock springs.

With the 52" fronts, you basically have to do crossover to make it all fit.

ya I was wanting to drive it with the 52inch springs while I was getting my parts for the crossover steering.

I didnt know if it was possible if i used limiting straps?

42s,axle in the stock spot,5 inches of lift :D

It is possible to hook up stock steering with the b52's. You can set it up so the axle remains pretty much in the stock location.

To make it right, you'll have to add some compensation to the steering to correct the geometry of the steering components due to the lift you will get from the spring.

Now your spending cash on something that simply won't accomodate the travel of the suspension. So, you'll still need limiting straps. More cash.

Your call. I'd advise against it though.

ya thats what i am going to do I almost have it all i just need to get my gear box drag link and steering arm. I have the flat top knuckles already tapped
