How about you let him do what he wants? My truck had 3 sets of tires b4 it left my garage .It is his truck his choice he asked for an opinion not for you to be a smart ass. How about you do a sfa on you mall crawler or is that what everyone else does too?:haha:I hear ORU has some really pimp street ones for curb hoppers.

In my honest opinion somebody who has to post up asking how to remove the fill plug on his front axle has no business reworking a suspension setup.. but hey thats just me  :haha:

Thanks but I think Ill pass on the SFA on my truck, the whole point of the truck is to be a practical daily driver not a wheeler obviously...

should i run a 7.25" shackle jus like for a 52" swap, or do 56's need a different length? do you know sand?

I dont have the mod done as of yet but I am pretty certain that is the length everyone is using. You have to remember that when most run 52s the move the upper shackle mount forward to get the angle right. With 56s you do not have to move that mount so 7.25" should be just right. You will have to clearance the front portion of the body mount but not much at all def not enough to weaken the mount.

yea i'll be the first to admit, that was a retarded question, i didnt try to get it off first, i just posted up. im sure you have asked retarded questions as well.

i swear all you do is hate on my rig. the idea behind a forum is to ask questions and get answers, not bein a smartass everytime. heaven forbid i should use an idea that worked out well for someone else....i mean geez, if people didnt use other peoples ideas even a little bit, people would have to re-invent the wheel every time. if i wanted to be like everyone else on this site, then i would run a 4" lift.

Look for pictures Sunday or Monday night. We're heading to Tellico this weekend and I'll see just what the 56s up front will do. I've wheeled the 64s but not the 56s yet. As of right now I've got a cucv set of 56s on the front, removed the 2 short leaves and overloads. I'm using the 7.25 shackles. I'm pretty close to your rig's set up except the height, I'm using stock springs.

Now I dont hate your rig I think its a nicely equipped truck and you cant say that I havent answered your questions or chatted with you before when you've had problems. I never said you shouldnt do something that everybody else has, I said you should get out there and wheel your junk and base your decisions on what you actually need. I just get a vibe that you are doing these mods just because and I think some others have noticed the same thing. Obviously you should do things that have worked well for others but I also believe that one should get out there and do things on your own and not rely on the internet for everything...

i understand what your sayin. i know youve helped me out before, but recently it jus seemed like you were just trying to be a smartass. the fact of the matter is that i wish i had known what a shackle flip was before i put my first lift on. alli knew was that blocks weren't good, so i got 8" springs:doah: and then i read and learned bout the advantages of having a shackle flip. and since i have to take the rear hanger off to do the shackle flip, why not swap springs at the same time? it jus made sense to me, two birds with 1 stone. my front driveshaft is terrible, i tried a zero-rate offset 1.5" hoping that would solve it, but it needs more. id rather swap springs and sell the other springs instead of pay mega-bucks for a bling bling driveshaft, thats all. and at the same time get some nice flex :)

Hey Danny!! what's going on, man? Did you just relocate the front bracket forward the same as doing a 52" swap?? Got me a smaller truck than the last one( :haha:)and am doing my damdest to get it done right the first time and i know the 52's won't like the 6.2. Take care maan.

An option i would consider if your looking to still extend your wheelbase, is 52 or 56's with the zero rate also. Youll be putting it damn close to the core support tho.

56's wouldnt be much change from 52's. But when making your shackle, think about it and make sure its correct for your rig. You may find you have trouble hitting the spring on the bottom of the frame during cycling of the suspension...
