Has anyone used the rear springs from a Colorado on the front of their rig? I ended up with a pair from an '05 2wd model, and it looks to me that they would work out well. They are right around 52" and the locating pin is centered midway in the spring. They also have a fair amount of arch to them.

I havn't but thats interesting. I wouldnt use them unless they are the same or stiffer than the "regular" 52's. They are soft enough as it is.

Bolt them in and see what you get. Might be the new fad all of a sudden.

Hmm, I do need to replace the spring bushings in the Blazer anyway:thinking:

Of course, it would help if there was a motor in the truck right now:doah: I need to get hopping on this thing before winter comes along.

My experience has been that Colorado springs are weak. My brother's Colorado and many that I have seen, all have rear springs that have sagged into a "w" shape.

I am guessing the Colorado springs are like the ones out of an s-10 which are also 52's, they have a very high arch being that the axle is mounted above the spring. They also have a very soft spring rate. If it is for a trail only truck i may work but the springs will most likely settle out a lot. I do not think there is enough stiffness in the springs to be able to drive the truck on the street with them. I personally have 52's and have put about 1000 highway miles on them myself
