Need a 54" slip yoke rear driveshaft (preferrably 1350 joints). Don't need the yoke, just a shaft that's 54" (maybe +.5"). Not sure if this is a factory lencth, but if you got some kicking around please measure it up and get back to me.

I will check tomorrow morning, I have a few kicking around.
It would help if I knew what it was going on though, a truck , blazer or suburban.
:D

The truck belongs to a buddy of mine so I'm not 100% sure. For sure it is a 8ft bed 4wd truck. He put a D60 up front and a 14B in the rear. I'm pretty sure it started out as a 1/2ton so the tranny/case are probably 700R4/NP208. I gave him a shaft out of a 3/4T 4wd with a 208 and TH400....it was about 1.5-2" too short (it fit but vibrates down the road). He doesn't have much of a lift if any in it.

Hopefully that helps. A 1/2ton 8ft bed shaft may be the right length...but 1310 joints? Maybe a 1ton w/205 and TH400?

OK I am going out now to see what I have, 54" from joint to joint right?

Well the ones I have here the closest is a 57" and it's 1350 with a slip yoke.
I will check in my other house later today I have a couple there.
The one I just did measure came from a long bed slip yoke 205 behind an SM465.

I check and see if 57" will fit...I'm thinking not but I will check.

54" is joint to joint, it is an estimate based on the shaft I gave him.

Ok, got more details.

The tranny is a 700R4, the case is an NP241. The rear is a 14FF and it is an 8ft box truck. The driveshaft in there is 52.5" from center of cap to center of cap. Anything from 53.5" to 54.5" should work. He is checking on a price to get one built today. The truck is a 3/4 Ton...not sure why a 700R4 is in there but it is. I thought pretty much all GM tranny/transfer combos were the same length providing you used an OEM spacer...guess thats not correct...unless it's because I gave him a shaft out of a truck with a 14SF..maybe it's an inch or two longer on the front?

The shaft I gave him came out of an '86 3/4ton TH400/NP208 14SF rear. According to my math, the TH400 is 24.325" + a 2.5" adapter = 26.825". The 700R4 is 23.625" + a 3.25" adapter = 26.975"

Difference must be in the rear? Maybe a shaft out of a CUCV or 1 ton that came with a 14FF would work?

I am going to my other house today and I will see if I have anything in the range you need.
I had a 14bff in my truck and then I switched to a D70 and I had to shorten the driveshaft, so the Rear makes a big difference.

Sounds good. Also, I think i was wrong on the joints...if it's a 14FF they must be 1410 joints..I think?

Think I found a shaft...somewhat local ~150 miles but the price is right. Driving out tommorow to have a look...if it's not a match I'll let you know.
