55\' Chevy Springs????

At work there is a 77 C-10 with 55' rear springs. Each pack has about 7 leafs per side and the shackle hanger has been moved back 2' from the stock holes. It looks totaly stock. Was this one of the "Big 10" or "Heavy Half" 1/2 ton pickups that GM offerd back in the late 70's /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
Them spring packs look tempting with the thinner leafs /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

The springs should measure 56" actually. I have seen quite a few late 70's 1/2 ton trucks and suburbans with tow packages and higher GVW that have the 56" springs as in the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks.
