56" questions

I have a '86 K20 that I am wanting to put 56" springs up front when I do my rockwell swap which should be real soon. I was wandering a couple things. First do you measure stragiht across from bolt hole to bolt hole on the springs to determine how long they are? Also what kind of newer vehicle do these springs come in? Like if I wanted to order a new set for about 4" of lift what vehicle do I order them for? I am wanting to run them with the short end forward to move the axle forward too. Right now I have 6" springs and 3" body lift and 38.5" boggers and the tires rub. I am about to be stepping up to atleast a 44" and eventually a 49" so I know that I wont be able to use stock leaf but I do want to keep it really low and I will cut as much fender as needed pretty much.

measue straight across from spring eye to spring eye, 56" springs came in the rear of solid axle 'burbs and pickups as an option (I'm not sure what determined which trucks got 56's but some have 'em some don't)

Measuring straihgt across from eye to eye is not the right way unless the main leaf is flat.

I have 56" rear springs up front on my 1981 K20. They are 4" lift springs and they are really 58" measuring along the arc of the main leaf.
