56\" rear springs WTF is going on...........

ok i went out tonight and got my rear springs, off of a 75 3/5 ton, I thought they were suppose to be 56" long, i measured from Eye to Eye on the springs and they measure 52, will they be longer once they are in the truck and they have weight on them or what?...........

Re: 56\" rear springs WTF is going on...........

you should have measured them before you took them out /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif then you would know the answer to your own question /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Measure from the center of the front spring eye along the length of the spring to the center of the rear spring eye...that is your length. Just let the tape measure follow the arch of the spring...

k thats what i was hoping what was going on........ Do you know if a 3/4 ton chev pickup has 56 inch rear springs? thats what i was told....... Also, is it ok to take the Bottom leaf out, and flip the over load upside down? would this help flex?

Re: 56\" rear springs WTF is going on...........

Flipping the overload will help it flex. You could also remove a leaf or whatever you like. You could go as far as removing all but the main leaf and build a custom pack of your own choosing using other junk yard leafs. It just becomes trial and error...

The best way to confirm what you have is a tape measure...

3/4 tons came with both 52 &56" springs, depending on gvw, you can't use 56" unless you shckle flip /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif
