What year and model truck did they come out of? How may leafs should I look for? What is everyone paying for them at junk yard?

they are on most 2wd ''mine came off a 78 c10''and some 3/4 ton''never seen them on a 4x4 but I've heard they are''and all 1ton.

My '90 Suburban left the factory with 56's. I upgraded it with a set from a '87 or so 3/4-ton pickup. Set me back $40 for the pair (and a lot of work for ktedesco and I to remove them in the junkyard).

i had a set off a 91' suburban 1/2 2wd. i wana say they were 4 leaf plus an overload. they will ask for a core charge so bring any pair of spring you have laying around. i think after the core i paided 20$ for mine.

I pulled a set of a M1028 and they have 8 plus a overload.

My 83 3/4 4x4 has them. 7 leafs plus a overload.

Got another set off of a 87 1 ton. 8 leafs plus overload. They were on the frame when I bought the whole truck.

Whats the difference between the 4 leafs vs the 7 or 8 leafs? The one with just 4 going to be softer and less lift?

My '90 burb had the 4-leaf ones. They were sagging and somewhat "S" shaped. Just not beefy enough to hold up 6,000 pounds of 4WD truck for 15 years. :( They would probably flex a lot better than the 3/4-ton ones though.

the 4 leaves came out of half tons and all the others are 3/4 ton or 1 ton. check out offroad unlimited on westheimer and hwy 6 last time i was there they had a set laying around.
if u get a big leaf pack take out a few and see how you like it. 4-6 leaves sounds about right
