I have a few 56 spring questions if fellow members don't mind touching on them. Has anyone found best combo of spring packs for best ride with decent towing manners. Is there certain spring packs to look for 5/1 over 8/1? Anything to beware of when seeking set of used ones? Sure there is more info I have forgot but have done little research and know to flip sides on shackle flip from DIY4X. Sorry if some feel like this is beating dead horse but sure you could spend 48 hrs just searching/reading on 56 springs.

The best for 56 pack for towing would be getting them off a camper special 3/4 ton like I did. 8 leafs and an overload. Just make sure you replace the center pin with a nice new fresh one. There very cheap. As long as the leafs dont have any cracks they're fine. Its better to tow with 4inch shackles than 6 just for stability.

as I mentioned, for flex and wheeling the 56 pack from the early 80's 2 wd burb I have are nice (5 pack) whereas the ones in the CC are a heavy duty towing pack..

maybe someone burb specific can verify what burbs had 56's, etc...

Both sets of 56s I've had are from Burbs. One had metric eyes and the other SAE eyes. I think they were both from 2wd 3/4 ton burbs with towing packages. Both were 7+1 and they were about equal. (one having more abuse than the other)

sorry, couldn't tell you specific years.
