so i want to do 56s in the front and rear. i did 64s in the rear last time and i dont want to move the front (of the rear) hanger forward. if i do 56's i only have to move one hanger correct? same with the front right? move the front hanger up and leave the rear put correct? also i found this pic of DIY4x and i dont think the angle is correct am i wrong? it looks like he moved it forward not back?

The angle is very bad if that is static height.

I am not sure if 56's came in blazers of that year or not. Most 56's I have seen stock are on burbs. I think it was an option that had to do with a towing package.

In answer to your question on the 1st post, the front hanger remains in the stock location, the 56's have a long side (the extra 4" of length is added to the rear of the spring)

I am pretty sure The K5's and all the other half tons came with 52's. I got my 56's from a 2500 Burb.

That pic looks to have the Flips in position for 56's but probably 52" springs. If he swapped them side to side the angles would be correct.

yea i was going to use my 64s in the rear on this one to but on the 84 the body mount is in the way unlike my 73. so now im going to run 56's. i went to the pnp but couldn't find a single pair. all were 52's or 64's. i measure from eye to eye in a straight line right? don't measure the arch?

<easure the length of the main spring to include the arch. Get a piece of string that measures 56" long and tape it to the center of the front bushing and allow it to hang along the leaf and over to the rear spring eye. You'll know when you find a 56'er.

The captions in the tutorial on the site say about how the owner plans to switch those 52in springs to 56s so he put them on flipped before he got the 56s.

The shackle angle comes out better with 56s and flipped than it does with 52 IMO.

Look for a 1/2 ton burb with a tow package. That is where I have had the most luck finding stock 56" springs. I have a set of 56" stockers and a set of 2.5" lift. Both came out of 1/2 ton burbs.

Some of the 88-91 blazers supposedly got them but I have never come across one in person.

Newer from the late 80's 2wd had them too as did one ton vans same years. Most 72-85 had 52's in 4x4. Mine came from a van and are symetrical as in 28-28, not 26-30 as most are.

My '89 and '91 Blazers had 52" springs. I got my 56's from a 80's 3/4T 'burb.

Here is my shackle angle:

That is with 56" springs long side backwards (4 leafs + overload), DIY4X flip swapped side to side and 6" shackles. With a Easy Inch, it was just about 4" of lift. After this pic I flipped the overload and moved the axle back 1.5" - the shackle angle is a little bigger now and the truck is a little lower in back.
