so i pressed out the old bushings but the new bushings that are for a front pair wont fit inside the 56's. anyone know why? how can i fit front bushings in a rear spring?

because front springs are 3" wide, and rear springs are 2.5" wide. There are also eye diameter differences depending on year. You need Either stock rear bushings + 1/4" spacers, OR a few vendors (including ORD) sell special bushings to fit rear springs into the front spring mounts.
Front springs are 2.5" wide. They just use a wider bushing shoulder.
