Would this be ok to run in the K5 or should I do the 10W30? Stupid hella hot weather.

i always thought 5w30 was for super new cars or for 4-bangers. also for people who do x-cessive highway driving.could be wrong though. /forums/images/icons/smirk.gif /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

i run 20w50 all the time.have had no problems.seems to run better on that than thinner oils.thin oils like the 5w30 get too thin when my engine heats up and i start to lose a little oil pressure,so i just run the thick stuff and its all good /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

me to , i'am running 20-50 and my oil pressure is up to 80 on start up and depending on rpm of course, runs at 40-60 the rest of the time, and 20 at idle.. i know the rule of thumb is 10psi for every 1000 rpm's but do you think 80psi is to high? should i be running a thinner oil? i'am thinking on going to snythentics, whats a good weight to run , i know there inherently thinner... thanks

i started running 20/50 in mine last oil change and it seemed to keep the motor quieter...it had been making some strange sound sand I haven't heard any of them since then.
