6.0 poping/hesitating. What could it be?

Im not sure i get what your explaining here. Are you saying to pull on side of the fuel rail up out of the intake, then start it and watch the spray pattern?

Yes, once loosened up you can pull the whole fuel system up and give it a look

Crazy. It will still run with the injectors just aiming at the injectors holes but pulled up an inch or so huh?

We pulled the injector plugs off while running to see if it made it stumble one by one.

The ones that stumbled we unplugged the coil pack, lifted the rail and checked their spray pattern. The motor will/should run on just one side at a time.

Ok so he got his codes checked, came up with p0174 system too lean bank 2. So he pulled his plugs and o2 sensors. Turns out the passenger side plugs and o2 sensor is heavily sooted and black where as the driver side stuff looked near new. So, just as an added bit of info the coil packs, the passenger side is off some other random engine(ls1 or something?) and the driver side is the original 6.0 pack...

Any ideas?

did you pull the injectors yet? Im curious now

Thats the plan. He is going to put 2 of the good and two of the bad plugs back in on each side of the motor and swap the o2's left to right and see what that gets him. He is also going to seal up the little exhaust leaks that he has to eliminate that as a possibility.

I think the coil packs are somewhat specific to each engines tune. You can make it run right with matching coil packs but maybe not with mismatched coil packs.

I would switch them around and see if the problem follows the coils. If so theres your solution.

Update, He swapped the o2's side to side and now the other side is throwing the
"lean" code, So with that we have decided the o2 sensor is no good. He is going to get a new one and try that out.
