I've all but pulled the trigger on a 07 6.0. It'll be going in front of an sm465 in my 83 k5. Do I need anything besides the clutch and flywheel from Advance Adapters to mount the trans to the engine. I told the yard that I needed the fuse box under the hood along with the harness and pedal. He said I shouldn't need the fuse box. From what I've read on this swap, I do need the fuse box.

Sorry I can't help with everything else, there are some LSx swappers here, hopefully they can specifically address your issues.

I don't think I'd let anyone pull it if it were me.

Otherwise you'll end up with a bunch of torched off pieces. Them saying you won't need it sounds like an excuse to cut up (or they have already) the harness instead of doing it right and disconnecting it, since that takes minimally more skill than using a cutting torch and some wire cutters. :(

If I was paying for a 6L, I'd demand that everything electric/fuel attached to it comes with, complete. There is nothing worse than trying to figure out hacked up wiring, especially if you actually DO need parts that are now missing. Thats the type of build that nickels and dimes you to death, as parts are NOT cheap.

you don't need the fuse box, i did mine with out it, there are a lot of unnecessary fuses and realys in it, Being that you are not fuel injected to start with you will not have as many fuses in your fuse box stock, it is really easy though to add a small expansion fuse block under hood, i ended up only needing 4 extra fuses for my 5.3.

How do you like the 5.3 in there? This swap is something I've been kicking around for a while. Trying to justify it to myself. I've pretty much decided to go ahead and do it. Hope it's worth it. Did you use the clutch and flywheel from AA?

The 5.3 is great, i am getting way better gas milage then i could have ever dreamed of with the 350, no having to wait for it to warm up in cold weather to run right, lots of low end torque, i am very glad that i did the swap. I did use the AA flywheel and just got a clutch at my local autoparts store for a late 80's k-5

Well the 6.0 is on the way. Should be here in couple of days. What did you do as far as fuel delivery goes? Did you just run an inline pump, or did you swap out tanks and use an intank pump?

Being that you have 07 motor you will have a return less system like i have.
What i did is use a TBI k-5 sending unit with a High Pressure Pump like a TPI pump or after market walbro (if your planning on power mods). To get around using a modulated fuel pump like the 07 does you need to buy a fuel filter for a 2002 corvette. The filter is a integral pressure regulator, so you run a pressure and return lne to the filter and a single pressure line from the filter to the fuel rail. Ill dig around and find the part numbers for the AN quick conect fittings that i used

That would be great. I appreciate all the helpful info.
