Factory roller cam, four bolt mains, oval port heads.
Makes same power as a 6.0, just at a lower rpm band.

I’m not opposed to a big block but this 77’ that I’m building is just a truck for driving. I don’t pull anything and really don’t need a big block. Now my blazer is different! I may want one for that.

Nothing “needs” a big block. But they sure do run better with them.

While I agree with you, my '01 with the LQ9, 550 lift Texas Speed cam is quite impressive to me, for what it is. We haven't done any real changes to the tune, except for a small bump in the timing down low. Need to put the wide band in and do some work.

And some trucks need a big block. :saweet:
