6 1/2"component systems....

6 1/2\"component systems....

I recently acquired some Q-logic kick panels and they state they can hold a 6 1/2" component system. What are some moderately priced but quality 6 1/2" component systems? I have 6x9 3-way Pioneer's already, so I know Pioneer is a good brand, but what brands do you guys like?

I'm a big fan of MB Quartz, Infinity, and JBL. Component system arn't cheap, but they do sound good. For the more moderately priced, I'd say JBL's.

You can nab a pair of JL Audio 6.5's for about $120 on sale. I like the cheapest model speaker, I have them and they are really great speakers.

navigate down to component speakers on pricegrabber.com and see what kind of deals are out there. kind of hard to go wrong when you get to the component level. i grabbed some of last years polk audio's for less than a hundred bucks and most people say that it's the best stereo they have ever heard.

Infinity sucks bad. I blew a set in less than a week. I like the Rockford Fosgates or Polk... They both deliver quality sound at high levels... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I agree, RF has a dirty sound to it. Gets pretty loud but just nasty.

i've got a set of those Q-form kickpanels. they accually say they fit a 6 1/4 speaker. i was able to shoehorn a 6.5 but they were a tight fit. i couldnt use the nice grilles that come with the components and had to use the cheap ones that come with the panels. i even had to trim those so they would clear the screws that hold the speaker in.big PITA! if i didnt already have the 6.5's i would have got 5.25.

as far as brands go , i've got infinity kappa components that sound awesome. i would recommend them. i dont know who blew them up in a week but they were probly the cheaper models and not kappas.go to ebay for the best deals and buy only from sellers with high ratings. i also like mb quart but dont know much about them, except my buddy had them in his truck and they were very nice.
