Works really well, that 465 is by far the best mod i have ever done to one of my trucks.
The only down side was that now it´s strong enough to brake the outers on the dana 60 :doah:
I guess 35 splines outers are the next mod to do ;)

Not the most common combo out there, but it's what I've run the last four years and I agree 100%. I really loved the ability to do so much stuff at idle. As the engine sees load it adds a hair of fuel itself to keep minimum idle speed...so with that gearing it's damn near impossible to stall.

Nope, it was someone else. I deleted the reply so this thread may now seem a bit disjointed. Sorry, and carry on please. :)

It was easier than I thought it would be but I had a complete donor a K5 from 79 the only thing that is not from the donor is the flywheel and clutch.

i still have some pedels, but that is all, im considering the swap. what year 465s are best or what should I look for..

Up until '80 the 465's were 10 spline and almost all of them had 205's hanging off of them. In '81 they changed to 32 spline (long output) and had either the 208 or in later years the 241 hung off the back of them. For the simplest swap try and find an '80 model or older with the T-case still bolted to it.

1 ton 465's from 85 and up had 205's and these are the rare 32 spline combos. the strongest setup for a 465/ 205 stock

i'd been use to a 6.2 with a 700r4 in my dads old 82 burb. And I was use to a 465 in my k10 with a 350. I barrowed a friends truck with a 6.2 and 465 and I liked it, I found it very hard to kill it.

Nope, not at all. It was someone else. Thanks to Rene for correcting it. :waytogo:

I will delete my post so there's no confusion.

i got good news, i found a 87 blazer with a 1 ton miltary setup in it, stock steering though, but 350 4 speed 465 205.. all 1 ton front rear.. 4:56 i belive..

1800 us.. i could drive it home he said.. so i just might. and i have tags from my truck so i will just bring my papers and vin from my truck, haha a buddy of my mine, he has a 72 blazer, hes on this site.. from van area.. its orange, anyways he did this with a beautiful stock 4wd 70 he got off criagslist. drove it home and insured it

has anybody done the 465/241 fixed yoke/short shaft combo on their 6.2 blazer yet? Because thats the setup i've been leaning towards on my '83. Also, how much shorter is the 465 compared to the 700r4?

it's substantially shorter. :)

yep. the driveshaft angle in my k5 is MUCH better w/ the 465/205 than my original 700/208.
