Hey all, been away for a while, and thought id bring back a question for the diesel heads here. Ive been looking at getting an old diesel benz to run SVO in, and per all the cars i get interested in, i started looking for ways to get more power out of them. I found a forum that is pretty amazing, and one of the more popular mods they are talking about deal heavily with upgrading the injectors, lots of stuff about nozzle style and number, popping pressure adjustments, and using a 2 stage VW injector body, all coupled with injector timing mods and fuel delivery mods. They are finding considerable power gains, better idle, quieter operation, and increased fuel mileage.

I was just wondering if anyone had been playing with these ideas on the 6.2/6.5 generation of GM diesel engines. Ive asked them to post up the thread sizes for the injectors in question, to compare to our injectors, and see if they are a direct swap (probably less than a one in a million chance) or if some sort of adapter could be made.

as for injector mods, Diesel power has just published a rather big article on the stanadyne pump, so im gonna sit down and read that tonight and see if i can make sense of it. seems there is alot of power in the cummins and benz style injection pumps by modifying the delivery valves. it will be interesting to see if there is a similar mod for our stanadyne pumps to pump up fuel delivery.
