Going to go look at a 6.5 turbo set-up to swap into this 90 'Burb. Engine is a 6.2 CUCV engine since the old one locked up. I've been reading up on this swap on here and have seen where you need to delete the AC or modify it with an s10. Modify what? the box on the firewall? What exactly if anyone knows? I'm accumulating parts as my shop is built but slowly setting it up for power. Want to have a project ready to go as soon as I move in to the house. Power in the shop or not!

I thought the AC delete or swap with the S10 evaporator applied to stuffing a 6.5 turbo diesel into a '67-72.

Either delete the AC, or you need the evap housing from an s10. You'll need to cut and fiberglass the s10 housing to the factory full size one, as the blowers are in different spots.

The factory airbox points in the wrong direction if you're trying to drop in a 6.5 turbo. My build thread has a pic, but not much else sorry.

Any square body trying to run a 6.5 turbo will need to be modified. You can keep an eye out for a 6.2 banks turbo that doesn't require that mod...but they are getting harder to come by. Banks wants $400 for just the exhaust manifold FYI..

And unless you have late 6.2 or 6.5 heads, you'll need to space the exhaust manifold from the injector lines either using 2 gaskets, a spacer, grinding the manifold, or a combination on any of those.

Well Im not willing to part with working AC!!! Not in Texas! So I guess this set-up I picked up for a 100$ will go on the mud truck for the time being.
