If anything, I think the military would use Optimas because of the mounting options and because they're 100% sealed.

The 100%-sealed trait probably had something to do with it, but I think the change was made for the durability and maintenance-free traits of the Optima. I have no idea what batteries are being used in tactical vehicles of any branch, so I can't comment on that aspect.
