6.2 Diesel Stepside

how do you shift it?

gotta love the blue interior with the yellow paint, **** like that drives me crazy.
 
Several years ago a guy wanted to sell me his 6.2L K10 stepside. I was dead set on a diesel powered K5 but ended up with neither instead. Probably should have bought his stepside in retrospect.

Read an article a while back that talked about older American vehicles in Japan. Said they tended to either treat them well or maintain them shoddily and that their "modification taste" tended to be behind ours by a lot.
That thing would have been cool 15+ years ago so yeah...makes sense.
 
Really, ditch the stupidass exhaust, nerf bars, plastic ventvisor garbage and the roll bar, throw a coat of paint on it that is anything but yellow, and you're set.

Wheels and tires, while not ideal arent that bad either though.

However for me, buying a truck with a 6.2 is like buying one with a blown up small block... I have to swap engines either way.

Flame away lol.
 
MY '82 K2500 looks a lot like that one,but its got an 8 foot stepside bed--much rustier too.....
 
that one looks like a shortbox truck with the stepside longbox adapted to fit by moving the fenders ahead.

or am I having delusions again?

Unless the bed came from a weird year, it doesn't look cosher, the wheelbase definitely looks like a short wheel base, and the bed looks like it is extended, not the wheel well moved.
 
My chevy is a factory 6.2 K10 shortbed stepside. I've only seen one other in person and that was probably 5 or 6 years ago.

That funky longbed one is all wrong. The fenders are too far forward, so it's most likely a shortbed chassis with the longbed made to fit.
 
The white truck in DK5's post is an 8 foot stepside,looks just like my bed...mine has rare dual tanks too,with fuel doors in each fender..too bad they are rotting off it!..

those guys are fukin dumbasses if it took them until after owning the truck to figure out it is a longbox that has been cut down. Did they even look underneath or just buy it because its bright red?
 
Ive been trying to find a lwb step side bed to swap on my K20 but have had no luck locally. :frown1:
