Hey guys, I was wondering where y'all get your hard parts at? By hard parts I mean pistons, rods, cam, crank, etc, and then where you get your bearings, rings, etc. I got a spare 6.2 sitting in the garage and of course my mind is thinking about how I could build it up a bit. Turbo is way outta my pricerange, but I was wondering how I could draw some NA power out of this other motor. Do these things respond to higher compression (or is lower better) and does anyone sell a different cam for it, or does a cam on a diesel even really make a big difference? I can rebuild sbc's and bbc's all day long and make big power, these diesels are just something I dont know about yet.

Any good writeups on the net for building a 6.2 making ~200hp in NA form? Hell, any writeups about building any 6.2?

yeh Im just thinking about well, who knows how many miles are on my spare 6.2, so might as well freshen it up and while Im at it I might as well.....this is how my 496 evolved from a stock 454 rebuild to a 600hp 496 in a daily driver......yes I know Im pathetic.

There's a BUNCH of stuff over on www.62-65-dieselpage.com . One of the guys on there built up about the most extreme NA 6.2L possible a while back and it's all documented there. I think you might need to get a membership to read it all.

yeh you need a membership.....anyone with a membership wanna give me the jist of the build?
