6.2 GM diesel in a late 70's early 80's K5

I am curently spending some time over seas in the US Army and have nothing to do but spend time thinking about the prodject that I am planning on starting when i get out. I've been spending alot of time reading 4x4 mag and i found a Diesel Power Mag about 4 months ago and now I can't get the idea of having a Diesel under the hood off an off-road rig. I was just wonding if there is anybody out there who has eather tryed this or have any input on it. All in all i realy want to get it done and need some pointer on the cost involved in getting the 6.2 in the K5 and anything that might make the prodject run smooth from start to finish

diesels came stock in some 80's k-5's, what are you looking to do with your project? Also where in IL are you from
