Anyone with a Blazer around 82 do me a favor? My low coolant light sensor wire was cut/destroyed when I bought it and I can't for the life of me find the other end, tired of the light being on.

I don't know where it's supposed to be routed, through the harness going behind the engine, or up front. I don't know what color wire comming out of the block's firewall is the right one to trace it back. Tried digging out the wires in the loom where I thought the break was, but it's so old hard and brittle I don't want to break it. Tried digging the wires out, but didn't find it in the part of the harness that goes behind the engine, around the passenger side of the block.

On my CUCV it was a light gray wire, don't see none of them :D

My book says it's a yel/black wire comming off the sending unit. Mine's not. Is the low coolant module thing under the dash? I think I've to trace a yel/black wire off the junction block but that wasn't it, or I lost it in the harness. Forget, it was a couple weeks ago when I first got it.

I've got a black wire that connects to a yellow/black just past the firewall, engine side.

Just below the main harness, it's a small round pass thru, I think 3 other wires in the bunch.

Where the fuse panel is, there is a small round harness just below that has a small bunch of wires.
But mines an 86, may be a slight difference.

But that low coolant sensor wire runs from that bunch up the fender, across the radiator and then down on the pass side to connect to the sensor.

It's funny you started this thread... I was working on my shift lever under the hood trying to tighten it up and saw that harness and some copper sticking out, so I thought I'd pull back the loom and fix that ONE issue.

Well, it was like that for EVERY wire...they all had missing insulation at several points.
Unbelievable!
Pulled the battery cables hen gave that harness a good soaking and wiped off tons of dirt and grime. Starting tomorrow I'll go and fix em up with some solder and heat shrink...then maybe I can get back to my screwed up 700r4 lol

Thats the info I was looking for. Hope the 82s and 86s are the same. Hopefully I can knock that out, and my power window motor and window seals arrived at the post office yesterday. Time to get stuff done :waytogo:

low coolant sensor location

My coolant sensor is located on PS radiator below radiator cap. Wire is black/yellow stripe coming from headlight harness in core support. Hope that helps.

Just to follow up.

Just happened upon a dangling wire on the driver side. Don't know why I never noticed it before, perhaps it was wrapped up with other wires and didn't look like it was broken.

Turns out it was the other half of the broken sensor wire. It's a black wire, that has a connector to the yellow/black striped one. It's connected (physically) on the driver's fender top to the glow plug controller assembly. From there it goes to the 3 wire harness at the firewall, below the fuse box.
