6.2 or 6.5

I don't know how to tell the difference between a 6.2 or a 6.5. My friend just bought a 92 2500. Can you tell what the motor is from the codes in the glove box? Which numbers? I know this is stupid but I a still learning about gas motors and I know nothing about diesel. Thanks in advance.

Is it turboed? If it is it's a 6.5 assuming it's a GM turbo. If it's NA then look in the glove box for the RPO codes. LH6=6.2L (379 CID) diesel Vin C , LL4=6.2L (379 CID) HD diesel Vin J, L65=6.5L (396 CID) diesel Vin F
