I'm trying to change the Pass side mount, and removed the three bolts that connect it to the frame, and the long thru bolt, and with a block of wood under the oil pan, lifted the engine a little.
How much do I have to lift it to get the mount out?
Make sure take the long bolt out from the otherside as well or the motor will bind on this. You may also find that you have to pull your clutch fan to keep it from breaking the radiator shroud. It may be easier for you to slide it out from the top as opposed to the bottom. I had my transmission bellhousing sandwiched up against the body by the time I was able to finally get mine out. Biggest thing is after each inch or so you raise it make sure you look in the engine compartment to make sure nothing is about to get crushed (Check your vacuum pump!) ripped etc. A pry bar helps get the clamshell (motormount metal) pried from between the frame and block mounting point.
One last thing. Watch your oil pan You will find that it crushes rather easily under the weight of your truck. I ended up using an engine hoist because I was caving the bottom of my pan in.
Forgot to add, the fun part is getting every thing lined back up when lowering the motor down on the new mount. Make sure that you install the mount with the reinfocing bars facing the right way. I found it much easier to get everything lined up as well by leaving all the bolts loose until the motor was sitting in the proper position then tightening them up.
Oh jeez... I just installed a new rad, and of course re-installed the clutch fan... Makes it seem like I'm working on a big-block Corvette... tite fit and all...

No, not yet. It took me 3 months to remove an axle from a parts TEERUK.Just installed it this week.
I was going to go to the FLAP to see the ENERGY mounts, but met a nice fellow at tonites cruise in, and followed him home to see his '56 Porsche Cabrio. He has owned it since 1962, and his sons rolled it in 1980. He's now 3/4 thru a complet resto. So so much for the FLAP... I'll get to it, it's in my way... Lol....
