I need a starter brace or bracket from a 6.2 diesel. I have the early direct drive unit (1987 with a swapped in SM465). I think it should look like the picture. If you have the hardware to go with it...even better!

Do you know if the diesel and gasser brackets are different? I have a gasser bracket here and it's shape is just like the picture. As far as hardware goes, there is a studded bolt on the starter (or should be) and then a 5/16" bolt about 1/2"-3/4" long that bolts the brace to the block.

I honestly don't know. Judging by other brackets (a/c, power steering...). I'd say they are probably just different enough not to work but...

is this for civi or military truck?

Doesn't matter, all 6.2 blocks are the same. You can get the bracket from a GM parts dealer online. GM#14028931

Its all of $1.92 from GMpartsdirect.com

I had tried a different dealer online and it came up discontinued. Thanks for the heads up!
