I have a leak on one of my injectors. Looks like it's coming from the thread of the injector. I want to remove it and inspect it and possibly repair it.

Is it easy to do this? What should I expect?

Lefty loose?
Righty Tighty?

What size wrench will I need?

Are the injector aluminum hoses easy to take off without damaging them?

Should I use some type of thread tape?

I'm far from a 6.2 guru, but I can say that my injector lines are so rusted ,I am expecting one to start squirting diesel all over the engine compartment any minute now..so they aren't made of aluminum!......................................................................................................................................................................................................I believe there is a special injector socket available from tool trucks and parts stores ,but a typical one can probably be used with care, those nipples the return lines go on could be snapped off easily if you slip though...I've never had to remove an injector yet,and if I do,I'm going to practice on the '87 6.2 I have on an engine stand that has a busted crank first, before touching the ones on my trucks engines!...

you need a 30 MM socket for the injector some are coarse thread some are fine thread.
