Yes they are good and after 95 I believe all were turbo too.

look for coolant leaks,injector pump replacment,or injector driver ( that's the fist that goes out) fuel pumps are week,hard on the injector pump next to be replaced.
They don't like to run on veg oil due the the photo eye pick up.
But for what they are there not to bad,Depends on what your plans for the truck.

Yeah they are pretty good. First power mod should be an intercooler & guages
Then you can tell how your other power mods are doing before you damage something

6.5 had turbos since '92. They are a reliable engines and easy to work on. Just don't go in expecting a Cummins or D'Max and you will be fine. Plenty strong for most things and good mileage. First thing you would want to do is move the pmd off the ip if it hasn't been done already. Life pumps do go out but are cheap and easy to replace and very easy to diagnose. Keep the air and fuel filter changed often. Very few injector or glow plug problems with these engines. I love mine.

Ok moving the PMD should come first and it's easy.
