Opinions on a moderately priced 6.5" component system. Looking to spend around $100-$150.

Powered from older Pioneer deck 45x4 mosfet, 3-way 6-9's in the rear and a 15" sub between the seats

Thanks

Quick note on the MB Quarts is they pretty much require an amplifier. Their RMS handling is pretty high.

RE Audio's RE series is a good buy in that price range. Their info and contact info (usually purchased directly from RE) can be found at www.reaudio.com . Definitely the comp set Id be looking at for that $ range.

I've been told I prefer hearing too bright a sound before...it really is preference I guess. I'm currently using Infinity's in my truck and have nothing against them. Great speakers.

RMS ratings are zero indication of 'needing' an amplifier. Neither is brand name. If you want to make a distinction between speakers that really need to be amp'd, you should be addressing the sensitivity (efficiency) rating of the speakers.
