Okay I've been reading over that 6.5 turbo upgrade thread and it has me curious

Now I've read some of the diesel power builds, but really not many people go all out on building projects like big magazine company's do.

But anyway, what are the realistic power numbers you can get out of a 6.5L without going all out on a new bottom end and all that.

I am hoping to get somewhere close to the 300 hp 600 tq mark with my 6.2L TD. I need new injectors, bigger turbo, and probably a reworked ($$$) IP. Mine is far from stock though.

Dang that's a stout 6.2L, you'll be surprising people on the street with that power out of a 6.2L

Has anybody around here built a 6.5L, I know they're similar to a 6.2. I'm just curious as to if it's be worth building a good engine for towing

Are your goals at the crank or the wheels? Honestly, just curious.

My goals are at the wheels. I know I may not make it, but that is my goal. There are several 6.5L ds4 trucks that make that. I will have to get a much fancier db2 to get there I am fairly certain. Since my ip is a fresh 4911, I plan on upgrading turbo, injectors, and intake. Then crank up the fuel and see if I am happy! [emoji41] [emoji106]

Have you seen conestoga dieslels hotrod DB2 pumps?

I think the plunger size is the same on the 4911 as it is on the 7.3 idi pumps. They usually (with maxed pump) make a little over 200rwhp. but they are governed slightly lower than a 6.2/6.5 pump.

I have seen those pumps!
