6.5 diesel

Well im looking for a diesel motor for the truck, and sure i could toss a 6.2 in there but i would like a lil more power. And the 6.5 should be an easier swap than a cummins.

Now what power numbers would i be getting from a 6.5? and what mileage do u think i would get?

Could i put a 4l80e tranny behind the 6.5?

Power numbers depend on what upgrades you would do. The numbers for stock 6.5TDs range from 180HP/360TQ to 195HP/430TQ.

Mileage depends on what it's going in and final gearing. My '00 CC with 4.10s would get 15-16 @70-75mph. Then ran across a fellow with a '98 reg cab that complained it was only getting 13mpg since he owned it and currently had 175K on it.

The 4L80E is the only auto that came behind the 6.5TD. The '92-93 used a standalone TCM while the '94-01 used the ECM to run the trans and injection pump.
