I had the crank polished and having a couple questions about the bearings

the book says for limits
mains 1-4 2.9517 to 2.9520
mains 5 2.9515 to 2.9518
oil gap 1-4 .0018 to .0033
oil gap 5 .0022 to .0037

rods 2.399 to 2.401
oil gap .0018 to .0039

mine read out at now

mains 1-5 2.949 all round

rods 2.397 all round
what size of bearings would I use std. ??? any help would be appreciated
the engine 6.5 TD F Block 1998

Looks to me like you need to turn it down .010 or get a new crank. All your numbers are out of spec for standard size bearings. I don't think you can get bearings for a crank that is .001-.002 under.

I am guessing that is the gm manual. What did the machine shop say the turned it? Like .005 on the rods and .010 on the mains.

I found that there is .026 bearings that will bring everything into good measurements when done

I hope the maged the crap out of the mains. 98s are super crack prone.

If you know anyone that needs a new 6.5L Diesel, Gearhead sells a replacement engine..with a 3 year unlimited mile warrenty

It says 2 year warranty on complete engines and 1 year on long blocks. They don't list prices without logging in, but I don't see any way to log in.
