Hey I was reading a post over on dieselplace.com forums. A guy said that if you put the head gaskets from a 6.5 on a J code 6.2 that you can run up to 15 lbs of boost safely. He states that the reason the 6.2 can only run about 10 is because that is all the head gasket can handle. Is there any validity to this claim?

Not really.

In the very short term, it might be true. I don't know about fitment, but they should be roughly the same. You'd also want to do head studs.

In the longer term, my opinion is that an internally-stock 6.2 won't hold up to 15psi even if the head gaskets hold. You'll crack the heads and the bottom end won't last long without some serious reinforcement. If you wanted to run 15 psi, you'd be smart to start with swapping in some different pistons for a lower compression ratio.
