My 6.5 has about 40k on it now. Ive had a nasty oil leak for quite awhile. I traced it down to the vent line coming from the oil fill tube to my BANKS airbox. I beleive whats happening is the turbo vacuum pressure is pulling oil out of the vent tube.

So to test my theory, I pulled the CDR vent tube off the airbox and stuck it in a jar under the hood.

After driving it far a few days, there was no oil leaks, so I checked the jar to see if it was full of oil.

No oil in it, but I did notice that there is alot of air pressure coming out of that CDR vent line when running.

Is this CDR tube pressure common? I dont remember one way or the other with previous chev diesels.

Also, I have already replaced the CDR, it didnt help.

The CDR is supposed to regulate the crankcase pressure. My guess would be that it has a ruptured diaphram and needs to be replaced. Too much crankcase pressure will definitely cause oil leaks

brand new CDR...

Also, the only place the engine has oil leakage is out this hose. no gasket anywhere leaks oil.
