I currently have 2 sets of 6.2l injectors. I would like to get 6.5L turbo injectors to go on my new build. The guy at the look injector shop told me that the 6.5l nozzles will not work on 6.2l injectors, basically telling me that I they were different injectors and the nozzles would not swap over. Is this true? They carry new bosch nozzles. He said the 6.2 nozzles would be fine, even though my 6.2l will be a built turbo'd engine. Cost to have them rebuild my 6.2l injectors would be around $200.

I can get new 6.5l bosch injectors from RockAuto around $340.

I will be running a fresh db2-4911 and a banks (for now) turbo.

what would you do?

why do you want the 6.5 nozzles?

if its for more fuel delivery for more power, then go with a set of marine injectors.

I mainly want the injectors to match the pump. I have a db2-4911 which is a mechanically injected 6.5L TD.

I do want to get more power also. From what I hear over at dieselplace.com is that the short body 6.2l injectors are the same body as the 6.5l injectors. Basically 6.5l turbo nozzles will fit on my 6.2l short body injectors. Anyone confirm?

Now should I choose regular turbo injectors nozzles or marine injector nozzles?

The only 6.2 injectors that are different are the very first year, 82 and maybe some early 83 model year. The heads are threaded differently and the injector body is different. Other than that they're all the same.
