If you haven't already lengthened your driveshafts with the 6" lift you'll almost definately be guaranteed that you'll need to do so with an 8" lift. Since you have a D60 i would highly suggest going with a crossover steering system rather than the factory push/pull steering. Using a block for the steering arm puts LOTS of stress on the bolts/studs and besides you would need more than just a stering block with 8" of lift. You would also need the dropped draglink which isn't very strong in it's design and also isn't cheap, you'd be better off applying the price to the crossover steering instead. You will need extended brake lines both front and rear and also longer shocks.

that is the kind of info i was looking for thanks guys. Also i have a question i want to eliminate my rear blocks i see off road design makes the shackle flip and longer shackels period. What would i need in order to eliminate the block? i have the stock 1 ton springs under there with the 6 inch block. (no i didnt put it on there like that) but was wondering if i would still need lift springs if i got the longer shackels and flip mechanism. Thanks alot guys.

A 4" shackle flip AND a 4" spring will give you 8" of lift. The longer shackles only give half the amount of lift as the shackles are longer than stock. So if you buy a 2" longer shackle you only gain 1" of lift. Longer shackles also rotate the pinion upwards which in most cases isn't a good thing.

Do a search on here for homemade shackle flips. People have done it and you don't even need to remove the shakle bracket to do it.

obviously longer u bolts will be needed.

Can't think why -- certainly it's not obvious. Especially if you're taking out the blocks in the back, you'll need SHORTER u-bolts in back =))

Up front, the lift spring pack shouldn't be THAT much thicker than stock. New U-bolts, yes ... but longer ones, not by much if anything.

yes i realized that after i put it in DUHHHHH to me. yes shorter definitly getting rid of the blocks. The truck is in progress i just wanna make sure i can still drive it you know. The cummins rips this thing around like you wouldnt believe. oh and i got a free intercooler and piping coming which is sweet so more power and black smoke at 5 dollars a gallon you cant go wront right?
