debating on how high to go... the only reason being is that im perty sure that with a 8 inch ima have to get longer drive lines... or am i wrong?

ima...? who's ima?

What size tires?

what size rims?

Willingness to trim fenders or no?

ive heard that 4in is the "easy" lift. where you dont NEED to change driveshafts, steering, brake lines, etc. etc. and that a 6in lift means you need to start doing extra. stuff.

hence the reason im going with a 4in lift. 52in springs up front, homemade shackle flip in the rear. done and doner.

Well see I just wanted to know if ima have to get lengthened drive lines...if I remember correctly I wanted to do this to my last blazer and I was gonna need to get a longer rear drive shaft... And when ever I do lift it I'm going to get the 4 inch shackle flip and 2 inch rear leafs ...then 6 in the front...but being I'm a lil strapped for cash ill proly just get 2 inch blocks in rear...and with the 6 I'm planning on runnin a 35 or 37 ..hopefuly a 14.50...and for now prolly a 15x10

Easy? lift

I think that also has to do with the manufacturer. I recently installed a junk country 4" lift, i shoulda listened to everybody, but got the kit brand new for under 300.00. New springs in front and blocks in the back. I kept reading that some people were doing the 6" lifts w/o problems and i didn't hear nebody having problems with a 4" kit.

After everything was installed and i lowered off of the stands the front of the truck was an easy 2" taller, looked hilarious, not so funny trying to drive though.

I called RC and gave them some part numbers and they tried to tell me it was the right pieces, lol. The front driveshaft was about 2" from even reaching the differential and the rear driveshaft was hangin on the output shaft about an inch. Shock lengths were a joke, almost completey extended just sitting there. Brake lines were stretched to the limit, installed SS extended ones. I'm not sure what compelled me to try and drive it, but it vibrated like crazy.

Since RC wasn't goin help me, i did the hillbilly shackleflip in the back and went down to a 2" block. This worked awesome, swung the front of the differential up and the driveshaft is now in the same position as when i started. It doesn't vibrate at all now, but i have to get the front shaft lengthened.

I'm running 35x12.5x17 now, no problems at all, could prob run 37's

I tried to post some pics, but the site won't let me apparently.

Ya I don't like rough country...my friend bought a 4 for his 05 dodge allwheel drive hemi..and he's had nothing but trouble...so does anybody think the shackle flip with a 2inch block and a 6 inch leaf in the front will give me any trouble?

I guess i should've told ya my drivetrain is a 350/sm465/np208. i don't know if the automatic makes a difference or not, but i have the same setup that your wanting to use in the back(2" block not springs) and it's perfect on my truck. The front, not so much.

Did your kit come with shims to correct the drive line angle in the front? Because it should of front and back...then there shouldn't be any problems..ny old 87 had a 4inch rancho lift and stock drive lines

Ya I know but I want the extra two inches...I wanna be up high...mainly a dd and mudder..got a old stripped dwn truck wth one tom drive train and 36s with a cage to crawl in lol

It didn't come with any seperate, but i don't remember if they were already on the spring. The blocks they sent were tapered for the back.

I paid 200 bucks for a new yoke installed on the diff and had my driveshaft extended... unless you REALLY don't want to spend the extra 100 or so for a longer d-shaft then go with the 6". I didn't have to do anything to the front d-shaft.

I've got 4d's and only 6in of lift. I even moved the front axle ahead 1.5in with a zero rate and didn't have to extend the front drive shaft. :D

This is only around 4" with 39.5's

Damn looks as hi as my 87 did with a 4 inch susp. 3 inch body and 35s...but I don't wana cut that much of my fenders...any comments on my thoughts of how to accomplish my 6 inches of lift? Good way? Is there a better?

i think your way will be fine, me im not a fan of blocks at all, but many guys run them. for six inches in the rear, id say a shackle flip and 2in springs, and 6 up front just run 6in springs, or do 52's up front with a lengthened shackle.

Ya nethier do I blocks create unwanted axle wrap but there just until I can buy the springs...how would I do the 52's up front? And I got a old 91 light duty 3/4 ton... Could I use the springs off it
