I'd like to redrill my 203 case for the newer GM 6-bolt pattern. Do you guys have a template or know of one somewhere? I'm searching all over Google right now with not much luck.

THanks!

It looks like the new 6-bolt pattern puts the top bolt at 12-0-clock. If that's it then I probably don't need the template.

The 203 seal retainer should center up the adapter other than your clocking you want . Thats how i did my 2nd 1 i built .

I'll check again when I get home, but I'm pretty sure I was able to spin the 6-bolt adapter on the face of the 203.

I’m more concerned with the orientation of the new adapter on the face of the 203.

I vaguely remember seeing a post about not worrying about being able to get all 6 holes drilled because one of the lower ones was too close to the edge.

My doubler is clocked at 12 degrees.

Slightly related...

The 32 spline 203 can be drilled for use with any of the later 32spl/6bolt round adapter setups, correct? As in, they all share a common output stick out length?

I ask because I'd like to possibly run a 203 behind an '85 model A-833 overdrive trans.

From what I've read it should be possible. Without clocking the 203 a bit you'll only be able to get 5 of the 6 holes to fit on it, but that shouldn't affect it. I'm assuming you're going to be using just the front portion of the 203 in a doubler application? I wouldn't want to use the whole 203 for anything except keeping my boat from floating away.

Lol, nope... I was kinda planning on using the entire honkin' 203. The K5 already has a 203 and I've already got a 32 spline 203 to stick in it's place. I haven't happened across any affordable 32 spline 208's or 241's in years and round pattern 205's are $$$. It's just a resto-mod that won't see any more than a dirt road and the 203 will work fine.

Besides, how many people can say they run an A833/203 combo?

To each his own, but I’m not sure I’d tell people you’re running a Chrysler trans with a complete 203! But that is really unique.

There’s a guy local to me selling a driver drop 241-C for a $100. I was pretty excited until I found out it was the wrong side drop.

Found some set screws to fill the stock holes with. Made this little piece to keep the lower gear shaft in place. Not sure if it’s necessary, but figured it couldn’t hurt.

Big bar for holder . Most just do tear drop to 1 bolt . But it will work fine .
That piece was leftover from another project and all I had to do was notch it.

Is there really that much chance of it spinning and what would it affect if it did?
