i have a 74 blazer and am torn between a 6 and 8 inch lift. will eventuall have 1 ton running gear and mainly like muding but like to have a capable 4x4 also. have a set of ord flip shackles with two inch lift springs that i found in a junk yard and a set of 8 inch fronts superlift soft ride from junkyard also.also bought the ord hd greasable front shackels. i have 38 by 14.5 tsl for tires right now. will to do some fender timming. just looking for some advice as to which way to go. as i have heard bettre spring is a flatter one which is the opsite of higher arch to get a lift??
an info and advice would be much appericated

Are you afraid to cut your fenders? You can fit 38's with a 4"-5" lift with some triming. Once you get into 6" or more your ride becomes more stiff. Here is a pic of my K5 with 38.5 sx's and 4.5" of lift.

Nothing wrong with Lifting a Rig up high but I recomend no more than 6". even at 6 you run into issues that are hard on Drive components but i HAVE a 6" and Love it I see where I would do a 4" next time with a 1" body but for now My six works great. Eight is getting dangerous then again it depends on how you are going to use your truck. 4 to 6" gets my vote. Good Luck

8inch superlift, 3 inch precision body lift....

no regrets, with 37s no body cuttage either, covered in dust...and the cuttout fender flares are going too...they arent needed with the 8inch

I had a 6" Superlift Super Ride kit and loved the way it rode on and off road but my 35's hammered the fenders with no trimming. Stepped up to 8" springs and I love the stance of the truck but I can still manage to stuff the 35's into the fenderwells with the swaybar connected and it rides a little bouncy.

Then again I have full on 8" springs all the way around and it seems like the grunt of the bounce comes from the rear. Guess its time to yank the sway bar, trim the fenders and do 37's!

thanks for all the input. i think i am going to go with the 6 for now simple because of money. going to keep he 8 front springs but with the back two over 400 buck plus drives lines and steering mods needed for eight. I dont have the money and the down time right now. as usual so many plan and never enought money to go around. dam school takes up to much time
