6" Lift vs. 4" Lift

yup, mud kings are an awesome tire for the price... my bro has gone through about 7 of em.

Since your rig is a K10 and not a K5 i would think you won't have to get the driveshaft lengthened even if you went with a 6" but that is speculation... i had to get mine lengthened but my wheelbase is the same as an isuzu pup.

Also 35x12.50s on a 15 rim will definetly rub with a 1" body lift and a 4" suspension. Although it might be different with a K10's wheel wells but if its the same as a k5 they'll rub. I have 35x12.50's on a 16 rim with 6" lift and they rub at full articulation with the tires turned. might want to go 2" if your set on the 35's.

I'm not entirely set on hving 35's under it. It would be nice to have that much tire...but if it won't fit withut problems then I'll either go larger on the lift or 33's.

Looking around at some places..I found a complete Tuff Country 6" kit (minus shocks) for $375. Tack on $100-$120 for 4 shocks and That's $500 for a 6" lift.
But what about the associated costs?
With 6", extended brake lines are pretty much required, driveline angles become a problem, etc.
I'll hav to check some of the K10's and K20's around town and see what they're all running. I work with a guy who has an 85 K10 shortbed with 33's, but I don't know how much lift.

The bunch on this board has been more than helpful, kudos to you guys for helpful info.

pretty sure with six you'll need multiple steering correction devices (ie raised steering arm, and drop pitman), definitely need to address the driveshafts with respect to length. Definitely need longer brake lines and shocks. May need to drop the t-case a bit so the rear driveshaft is happy (again, maybe not with the longbed).

Well, then I thhink it would be in my best interest to go with a 4" suspension lift then and maybe a 1" body lift just for extra clearance.
With that being the case...seems like 33's would also be the best bet as far as tires go.

Thanks again for all the help.

you can find 34's if you look hard enough...

500 bucks for a 6" tuff country?

damn... the superlift that came with my truck was like 1200 with dual shocks and dual steering stabilizers.
