I just got a pair of 6'' lift front leaf springs and plan to put 5.5'' blocks under the back. I paid 500$ for my blazer and am not really concerned about every little detail that goes along with a lift. What is absolutely neccesary to modify to keep my rig functional on the trail? Steering arm? Brake lines? shocks? Any help would be much appreciated

You pretty much said it, brake lines, longer shocks, the drive shafts will work but will be pretty close to maxed before you even start really flexing, and at least a raised steering arm. These will get you moving but it will depend on how you are using the truck as to how well some of the mods will work.

A shackle flip in the rear is relatively inexpensive and will give much better trailability than blocks. Much better flex for the lift and less chance of axle-wrap!

Using the stock shackles? The leaf springs are already on top of the axle i thought blocks would be the cheapest and easiest but im all for doin better on the trail.
